Once the principal farmhouse in Marton and occupied by the Wildsmith family continuously from 1790 to 1960, now a peaceful home with space for quests as our 3 daughters have moved on (hence the peace!). Secluded gardens for your use and river frontage with fishing rights.
Two pretty double bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms (bath and shower), plus a nearby twin without facilities, perhaps for an extended family.
A comfortable and spacious guest's sitting room with open fire, TV and lots of sofas, plus a fine guest dining room for breakfasts to your own requirements, using local produce whenever possible.
Ian works with old buildings and is an author, whilst Carol has 30 noisy toddlers to control at a nearby school, for her sins.
Sorry, strictly no smoking, dogs (except our friendly spaniel), or outside shoes inside, but otherwise our home is your home during your stay. Safe off-street parking, tea and cakes, free wi-fi, local advice, cosy pubs, long walks, steam trains and Castle Howard are all here for your enjoyment. No website yet, but please call for availability and prices.
