Lowther House B & B and Tea Garden

We are just a three-minute drive (or a leisurely 15-minute walk) from Pickering town centre however, Lowther House feels like it’s out in the countryside as it is nestled between secluded woodland and fields and surrounded by our lovely garden.
Just to add to the tranquillity Pickering Beck runs babbling past us on one side. Our Tea Garden, which offers a variety of drinks, snacks and cakes, is a lovely place to sit quietly, relax and enjoy the view. You may well see one of the steam trains, from the NYMR, as they pass by quite close.
Lowther House is approximately 200 years old and belongs to the Duchy of Lancaster. Though she is an 'elderly lady', a bit creaky here and there, she has a warm, comfortable atmosphere.
Situated between the Moors, the coast and the history of York and surrounding areas, it is the ideal place to stay as you can strike out in just about any direction and bump into something interesting!!
There are steam trains to ride, walks (or cycle rides) to go on, many birds to watch and the whole area is steeped in history. We are close to Eden Camp, the Folk Museum, numerous historic houses, Lavender farms - too many attractions to list. It is almost impossible to get bored here!!
We think it is the perfect place to unwind whether you are staying with us or just treating yourself to some refreshments.
