Janette Hynes MBE, the owner of Nightingale’s Eatery was once a professional women’s football player and is now a leading occupational therapist with many top honours to her name. The highest of which, and most treasured, is the MBE she received from the Queen for her work with Positive Mental Attitude Sports Academy (PMA), the charity Janette founded in 2002.

Our Sports Engagement Programme has engaged over 4,000 young people nationally : We delivered education masterclass workshops, on setting up local sports clubs and benefits of engaging people who have mental health challenges to over 1,500 professional football club coaches and healthcare providers: In partnership with the FA we were the first leading charity that trained over 40 level 1 and 2 football coaches who have a mental health diagnosis.
We are a multi-national Award winning Charity and leading influential founders of the growth nationally, for the development of sports clubs and leagues for people with mental health challenges.
The mental health sports engagement programme which is now been led by numerous organisations is still growing and developing, We have recently opened a PMA Sports Academy In Yorkshire following our success in London. In the last 2 years in Yorkshire 200 young people with some form of emotional challenges that was holding them back in life have attended and 85% have gained some form of employment and turned their life around.
